Reading:
"Hope" is the thing with feathers-
That perches in the soul-
And sings the tune without the words-
And never stops-at all-

And sweetest- in the Gale - is heard-
And sure must be the storm-
That could abash the little Bird 
That kept so many warm-

I've heard it in the chillies land-
And on the strangest Sea-
Yet-never -in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.

About the Poet:
Emily Dickinson is considered as one of the most original 19th century American poet. She was born in Amhert ,Massachusetts,to a family,well known for educational and political activity. Her father was a lawyer and treasurer of the local college . Her mother was a religious, hardworking housewife. Emily was educated at Amherst Academy. She lived a secluded life. Her works have been a source of much comfort to the distressed hearts. Hoe is such an example. She died at age of fifty five.
